About Vintage 415

01

It started with events. It became a way of bringing people together.

Vintage 415 began in the early 2000s as an events and culture-marketing company. Four friends gathering their friends and soon their friends of friends, music and rooms that made San Francisco feel like itself. Parties grew into restaurants, bars, boutiques, venues and collaborations.

Today, Vintage 415 is less a single company than a shared history and a continuing thread. Nate remains in San Francisco hospitality, while Todd, Lawrence and Demetrius have carried that entrepreneurial spirit into live events, music and artist management, and East Bay real estate.

The founders story

Four friends who decided to make the night themselves.

At the beginning, Demetrius and Lawrence were in law school, Todd was working in hospitality and Nate was in a corporate finance job. In the early 2000s, just out of college, the four started throwing parties for fun and community. They began with monthly events at places like 111 Minna, Butterfly, Ana Mandara, Fluid, Frisson, Hotel Vitale, Waterbar, EPIC Steak and Cloud Nine. Along the way, they produced hotel openings and brand-marketing events, while one-off parties grew into annual New Year’s Eve and Halloween traditions.

Friends invited friends, hundreds showed up, and in 2004 the four left their day jobs. By 2007, the San Francisco Chroniclecalled them “culture marketers” with a mission to “turn weeknights into weekends.” The name Vintage 415 was already nostalgic: a nod to the days when 415 covered much more of the Bay Area.

The businesses changed. The connection didn’t.

Some of us still carry the vintage415.com email address. All these years later, it remains a small flag for a formative time, four partners and a city we love.
